YZ80 restoration blog, maybe posted before but here it is. Lots of
good tips on refinishing plastics.

I've seen newer bikes than this 1990 YZ80 here, and all were considered old school.

nah it counts, considering the YZ80 used the same basic design from 1983 to 1992, and in fact is largely rooted in the 1981 aircooled YZ80.

Plus I have a soft spot for old YZ minis. My first bike was a YZ60, followed by at least 2 (might have been 3) YZ80s of this vintage.

Nice, I had an 88 YZ80 I rode the wheels off of. Love these bikes.

I had the '78 YZ80 from new as a kid, worked all summer for it and blew my wad of cash on it.
Great little bike, super reliable except for the broken frames, by the time I was 16 I was too
big for it but barely enough for a 125. The YZ100 would of been perfect at the time.
It had a great rear shock unlike the YZ125. I could charge a series of whoops
by wheelieing through and never let me down. Forks were only passable.
I have pics somewhere, I'll get them out tomorrow.

Cool...I raced an 87. I've been thinking of building a replica if a cheap 86-92 comes up on craigslist.
