A Lift
B Press a lever with your foot
C Roll into a chock

I will got with B for $200.

Seriously given the frequency of posts about back issues I wanted to provide a PSA Smile as a reminder to anyone that is riding with a back issue to be a friend to your future self and stop TODAY from lifting your bike on the stand. Your L5 and L4 will thank you.

B. I got a lift stand a few years back with a bike I bought, and have kept it and used it on every bike I have had since then. I haven't used a regular stand since then.

Pull into the pits, 5th gear wide open. Rip the front break to no footed wheelie. Adjust body weight to one side of the bike. Come to stop over stand and land.
Usually I just lift and put it on, but If I try 10 times to front wheel wheelie on to stand, I can land it, prob 3 times.

-Right hand on the very end of the clutch side of handlebars with the bars cranked all the way to the right.
-Left hand underneath the bottom of the left fork leg
-Pick up front of bike. pivoting on rear tire which is still on ground
-Put on custom milk crate I stole from back of Albertsons 25 years ago.

by the way...if your back hurts too much to put your bike on a stand ,well...

A. but only when it's in the garage. When riding I lean them against a tree or the side of the trailer.

Like a boss. Cool

If you guys are having trouble lifting a motocross bike three inches onto a stand, you're doing it wrong.

I grab the rear wheel by a couple spokes and pick the rear tire up while holding a grip in one hand..

Please don't forget that modern 4T bikes weigh about 427 lbs.

Unless you're racing Vintage I imagine your Alberston's milk crate might have a mod or two

RE: .if your back hurts too much to put your bike on a stand ,well... this would apply if we are talking about "normal" folks not those of us that have the MX addiction.

The 450;
Grab the front break with my left thumb and hand from the right side of the front wheel. Reach down with right hand and grab the front spokes half way down and at their cross, lift bike from the front wheel and set bike on the stand.

The 125;
Grab whatever and where ever...at least as long as its not hot

Gotta say I have never seen nor heard of that way of putting a bike on the stand. Me, I do the lift method....allthough with forearm pump the way I get I am surprised I am able to lift it most of the times Smile

Well yeah, if you're riding a 4-stroke, you're doing it wrong as well. Tongue

Even so, it's pretty easy. Angle the bike so it's at about a 45 degree angle to the stand, with the front tire right about where it will be when the bike is resting on the stand. Lean the thing toward you while pulling upward on the rear fender/seat junction. While doing this, give it a little "bump" with your hip and the thing will go right up.

The biggest mistake I see people doing is trying to "lift" the bike from right next to the stand. That's like trying to curl a 200 lb dumbbell with your right hand. The trick is to use the hip.
