Click the following link for a video of Steve Matthes talking about the benefits of the Merge Racing Adjustable Leak Jet (and some other goodies as well).

You may not be all that familiar with it, but buried deep within the bowels of your Keihin FCR carb you have leak jet. Being able to adjust the leak jet for the conditions at your local track, like temperature and altitude, is one of the keys to boosting performance while eliminating the dreaded four-stroke bog.

According to the guys at Merge Racing, Most stock bikes are jetted on the rich side to help prevent bogging, but that’s not necessarily the hot setup for maximum performance. By installing and adjusting the Adjustable Leak Jet (ALJ) for your conditions, you can go one notch leaner on your needle for crisper throttle response, and still not suffer the dreaded bog.

The Merge Racing ALJ is currently being used by the MDK KTM riders, both on the Lites and 450 side, as well as Kevin Windham, and the Cernic’s Kawasaki team.

In the video below, Steve Matthes explains what the Merge ALJ does and how it works, as well as showing off a couple other goodies, like their accelerator pump spring, and a fuel screw that allows for easy external adjustments.
