Monster Energy Supercross is widely considered one of the most physically demanding sports on the planet. Professional riders must navigate man-made tracks
filled with upwards of 50 jumps and other technical obstacles aboard 240-pound motorcycles, all while battling alongside 20 riders in search of one common
goal: victory. While race wins and the ultimate prize of an Monster Energy Supercross Championship motivate riders to be at their best each and every week,
the dedication, sacrifices, and overall risk necessary to succeed in the sport are enough to test any athlete’s will.

Supercross: Behind the Dream
will follow the challenging, heartbreaking, and often inspiring journeys of the sport’s biggest names like reigning three-time champion Ryan Villopoto and
his longtime rival Ryan Dungey, highly regarded rookies Ken Roczen and Adam Cianciarulo, in addition to stars of the future like Jordon Smith. The pursuit
of success is relentless in today’s era, widely considered the most competitive of all time, and the struggles that come with the competing at the elite
level are documented in the series.

“What makes [supercross] physical is the intensity, for one thing; that there’s no let up,” said Aldon Baker, trainer for Villopoto, Roczen, and
Cianciarulo. “In team sports they hand it over, as teammates. In this sport, there’s none of that. You’re on your own. That aspect [in addition to]
maneuvering the motorcycle on changing terrain; every lap they come around its different. It’s been chewed up and they’ve got to be monitoring that, plus
racing a bunch of other guys.

“The heart rate, which is your cardio, is really tough; they’re anaerobic plus. Just try and count the number of times they stand up and down on the bike
in one lap. Never mind the coordination, the braking, the clutch, changing gears, shifting, the timing…I can’t think of a sport that even comes close.”

As the Monster Energy Supercross season continues, Supercross: Behind the Dream will put the spotlight on the storylines and individuals that will
ultimately define the 2014 championship emerges as a title hopeful along the way.
