​Troy Lee Designs didn't become the huge company that it is now over night. In the beginning, Troy Lee was just a helmet painter. He'd paint helmets for Motocross riders, NASCAR drivers, and everyone in-between. Eventually, he expanded the company into manufacturing Motocross and Mountain Bike gear. Today, Troy Lee Designs offers casual wear, Mountain Bike gear/helmets, Motocross gear/helmets, and several paint services. The company's most recent venture is owning a Motocross/Supercross team, which is now the Factory KTM 250 team in the United States.
