Overall Review
Recently KTM invited us to their home turf for a first ride on the all new 2020 KTM SX-E 5. With six different power modes, the SX-E 5 was a slight change of scenery for our mini tester. We cover the features of this bike and the feedback that comes with it. Take a look!

2020 KTM 350 SX-F
Vital Review
Overall Review
For 2020, the KTM 350 SX-F received the same changes that its bigger and smaller siblings received as well - updated suspension settings with a few new parts in the fork and a vented air box cover. Neither of these changes made the bike wholly different that the 2019 bike, but we did notice a bit more initial movement in the fork and a bit more bark from the motor as well, especially in map 2. If you've never ridden a KTM or Husqvarna 350, it is probably different that you think. To say that it is just big bore 250 or the perfect vet bike (like many have) is just plain wrong. The way the 350...

2020 KTM SX-E 5
Vital Review
Overall Review
At this year's Red Bull Straight Rhythm, while most people were focused on two-stroke machines, we were getting our first in-person look at a brand new no-stroke machine - the 2020 KTM SX-E 5. This minibike has been in the works for years and we've had a few packets of information floated our way, but we actually got to see the bike in the flesh and get a little on-track demonstration. Adjustability Before looking at the obvious difference in this bike and the 50 SX (the motor), the SX-E 5 has an unprecedented amount of size adjustability. Because there is no gas tank, no air box, and no carb...

2020 KTM 300 XC TPI
Vital Review
Overall Review
The future of two-stroke dirt bikes has been in flux for years. While there is a modern resurgence in their popularity, both in motocross and off-road riding, in the motorized recreation arena in general, engines that burn both gas and oil have been slowly fading away. Yet KTM, especially with the 2020 launch of five TPI two-strokes, has bucked that trend and is standing firmly in the corner of all two-stroke fanatics by continuing to develop, improve, and expand their two-stroke offerings. The bikes in question are three XC-W models (150, 250, and 300) and two XC models (250 and 300). The...

2020 KTM 250 SX-F
Vital Review
Overall Review
*We know that the typical numberplate background for a 250 is black with white numbers, but some wires got crossed and we are going with a 250F-racing-in-the-450 class look. As we mentioned in the First Look, since last year’s KTM 250 SX-F (and all of the SX-F line for that matter) got a pretty big overhaul, it isn’t surprising that 2020 is a refinement year for KTM. The ‘19 model got a host of changes and to see what we thought of that bike, check out the First Impression here. For 2020, the KTM 250 SX-F’s fork and shock got all new settings and new internals. In the front, the same new...

With major changes to the 2018 KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition that transferred over to the standard 2019 KTM 450 SX-F, it is unsurprising that the latest version of KTM's premier motocross model is light on changes. For a full list of specs and changes for the 2020 model, check out the First Look. The abbreviated version is as follows: new piston with different coating for better durability, new suspension settings, new fork piston, new shock adjuster for more precision, a 49-tooth rear sprocket (up from 48-tooth) and mapping changes. To drill down a little deeper on the changes to the...

2019 KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition
Overall Review
There was a lot going on with the 2018 KTM Factory Edition so no one would question KTM if they just phoned-in the 2019 version, but they didn’t. While the updates aren’t as monumental as an all-frame and mostly-new motor like last year’s, there are some very noticeable changes that address a few of the issues we’ve had with the 2018 FE and 2019 standard model 450 SX-F. KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition HIGHLIGHTS: Red Bull KTM Factory Racing graphics New CP box-in-box piston & new PANKL conrod New Factory machined, anodized triple clamps Factory start for front fork Orange frame Composite skid...

2019 KTM 350 XC-F
Vital Review
Overall Review
As the phrase goes, there is no replacement for displacement. And for the most part that is true. Very few riders would voluntarily give up cc’s in a racing situation. But Tony Cairoli has shown in the past that with 100cc less than the rest of the field he could still dominate on a KTM 350. An even more compelling case might be Kailub Russell, winning six GNCC championships on a KTM 350 XC-F, and plenty of other riders in XC1 Open Class running a 350 when they could ride a 450. For 2019, KTM’s XC-F line received the same changes that the all the SX-F bikes received and a few that are just on...
