Honestly, fitting all our thoughts on such a new bike into a couple minute long video is quite tough, so we've opted for a Forum QNA with out Test Editor Michael Lindsay. So if you have any questions or need some extended details on a certain aspect of the new bike, head over here: Forum QNA - 2018 Honda CRF250R. If you want the full tech low-down, hit up our First Look/Tech Briefing here: First Look - 2018 Honda CRF250R For some written thoughts on the new machine, scroll down. After how well-received the 2017 Honda CRF450R was last year, it made myself (along with many others) even more...

Vital MX - With Honda releasing an all-new CRF450R in 2017, we all knew that meant they would follow it up in '18 with some sort of revision to the CRF250R. And due to the spy pics from Japan this year, we also knew that it would be even more "new" than the new 450 from last year. While we expected it to get the new chassis, bodywork, suspension and down-draft intake layout of the 450...what was unexpected was the change from the Unicam engine design, which the CRF250R has used since its debut in 2004, to a dual overhead cam and finger follower actuated valve system on their latest engine...

After possibly the biggest year for the CRF450R in 2017, next to the first model in 2002, what is Honda going to do to up it? Honestly, it's a bit tough, although it didn't win our '17 Shootout...it did come very, very close. Along with being near the top in basically every media outlets comparison. As with any all-new model, the second year doesn't usually boast very many changes but those changes are very key. For 2018, Honda went after the main complaints, the forks, and tweaked on the balance a bit. This consists of new spring rates front and rear (stiffer), along with some new upper...

2017 Honda CRF250L Standard and Rally

Yes, as a core motocross rider, I've done some laughing at small-bore Dual Sport bikes...and after spending some time with the Honda crew aboard their new 2017 CRF250L and Rally models, I'm slightly regretting my previous laughter. Now I've enjoyed some bigger Dual Sport bikes and some of the latest Adventure models, but small Dual Sports haven't quite pegged my interest in the past. Probably because I struggle to keep myself relaxed on a trail, as my ADHD kicks in when I see a roller that can be launched or a corner I can rail like a berm. And on this fateful day my ADHD definitely kicked in...

2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin

For the majority of our thoughts, plus a look at the machine in action, click play on the video above. Yes, a large adventure bike is something we don't see much of on Vital MX, but in the case of the Africa Twin it was a must test! Okay, well, it was a personal "must test" but it was completely worth it. For years, I personally laughed at the thought of riding a large adventure bike...initially finding them to be a bit pointless. Sort of like large street bikes meant for the dirt, but without basically any dirt prowess, while taking away a ton of that initial streetability. Now in the past...

2017 Honda CRF450R
Overall Review
About me: I have been fortunate enough to ride ALL the 2017 450 models this year and was part of the VitalMx 450 Shootout so I feel that I'm in a good position to provide some opinions. I'm not pro, don't race that often these days and I'm 30 years old running an Intermediate pace. I weigh 155 lbs and have owned/ridden all sorts of bikes over the years. Fit and Finish: I have always wanted a Honda since they've always been my favorite brand but I have never ridden a Honda that I was impressed enough with to go and buy myself. The 2017 CRF is a work of art in my eyes and they hit the nail on...

More Motocross Videos For years now, Honda has had arguably the most nimble bike in the 250F field, but has struggled some years with their overall power. Per Honda's view on their motocross models, they tend to lean towards easier-to-ride, over pure power to the ground. But in 2016, Honda made a host of engine changes which on paper brought it closer to the top of the class. On the track however, it's still kept the easy-to-ride mentality, which can hide the overall improvements they've actually made. With the main focus being on the 450 for 2017, the 250 hasn't received any notable changes...
