What’s New? 2013 Honda CRF450R Yoshimura RS-9 Exhaust 7

The 2013 Honda CRF450R is a rather unique beast, with its dual muffler setup, and Yoshimura has crafted a new RS-9 exhaust to its lineup featuring all the craftsmanship, precision fitment, and quality that you’d expect.

The header pipe features a three-stage tapered design that they claim provides better power and throttle response as well as more useable power delivery.

In the tailpipe section, Yoshimura’s vertical divider is said to divide exhaust gasses more evenly for smoother flow, while generating better mid-to-top power and better initial throttle response.

The RS-9D (Dual) rear mufflers feature parallelogram-shaped muffler bodies, which Yoshimura says increases the available volume over the stock system, so you get better throttle response and improved noise cancellation. You also get mufflers positioned closer to the bike's center of gravity (mass centralization), resulting in better handling, as well as a decreased potential for crash damage.

Inside the carbon fiber end caps you’ll find a tunable insert system, which is said to give you the opportunity for power and sound tweaks, and Yoshimura says that the systems are AMA 2-Meter Max and Amateur 94dB sound compliant right out of the box.
