Ride Engineering KTM Axle blocks

If you own a KTM, then you know the pain of trying to properly adjust the chain. Most stock chain blocks are a bit hard to read, but the current KTMs stand out as nearly impossible. On most makes and models you can simply go out and buy a set of aftermarket axle blocks that are easier to read, but on the KTM this isn't as simple, because the stock adjuster is pressed onto the end of the axle. This makes things a bit more difficult, and has created a lack of aftermarket fixes.

The guys over at Ride Engineering came up with a solution for the 2013 and newer models, by replacing the stock axle with one from a CRF450R. The Honda axle slips right into place of the stock KTM one, allowing for the use of a more standard axle block setup, that slips on and off the axle. One other problem though, the swingarm on the KTMs are still lacking a bit when it comes to markings to easily judge the adjustment. To solve this, Ride created axle blocks specifically for the KTM application, that have a tab on the end with markings. This allows you to judge the adjustment based off the end of the swingarm.

After seeing this for the first time, the simplicity of the fix left me very impressed, as the idea is a great solution for KTM owners. Ride Engineering now has this complete kit for sale for $99.95, or you can purchase the Honda axle, nut, and washer from your local dealership, then buy the blocks separately from Ride.
