The piece at the top? That's the spring...but it's not entirely new. Hinson has been using a similar setup in their slipper clutches for quite a while with good results.

Have you heard about the most recent clutch setup from Hinson? Rather than loading up the traditional 4-6 springs (which need to be carefully matched to keep the inner hub and pressure plate aligned and working smoothly), they’ve adopted a single spring. This setup is claimed to eliminate drag between the springs and the inner hub/pressure plate for a smother action, and the single spring design helps reduce heat since it lays flatter and prevents clutch drag.

Yeah, that aproximate 1,000 dollars spent by an average rider is less and less likely going to 1 particular part or mod these days.. However, as history in the industry will show, a great innovation or idea sells itself. New spring system or not, the benefits of Hinson components make the price fair at minimum

Looks like a great idea and product.... I like how he mentioned you could buy 3 or 4 different springs to try them out...assuming the single spring is aroung 50 bucks you could esaily have 200 invested in just clutch springs and what do you do with the leftovers? And then the cost of the clutch hub/pressure plate. The cost to even ride Mx is getting out of hand these days
Great innovation by Hinson just wish I could afford one. With that amount of money you could get some suspension work done or get a full amount of multiple day sessions of riding school.
