GoPro HERO4 Session 1

GoPro just raised the bar again with its lightest, smallest, most convenient camera yet, the HERO4 Session. Its rugged, waterproof design eliminates the need for a bulky housing unit, substantially reducing size and weight, and yet it still packs all the power of GoPro, including one-button control, 1440p video, 8MP photos, and ultimate mounting flexibility.

The HERO4 Session's specially designed mounts give you more mounting options than ever so it go can where other GoPros can't. The Low-Profile Frame gives the HERO4 Session the lowest profile of any GoPro camera, while the Standard Frame works with all existing GoPro mounts so you can create a wide array of ultra-compact setups. It also includes a Ball Joint Buckle that allows you to tilt and swivel the camera without having to stop and unmount the camera. Plus, you can mount the camera sideways or even upside-down, and Auto Image Rotation will automatically adjust the orientation to rightside-up, meaning you won't have to flip the image in post-production.

As with other GoPro cameras, you can expect stunning video quality from the HERO4 Session. Capture high-resolution 1440p video at 30 frames-per-second (fps) or 1080p at 60fps for exceptionally sharp and lifelike image quality. High frame rate 720p 100fps video delivers incredibly smooth slow-motion playback of your best highlights and closest calls. The HERO4 Session also makes it super easy to get the perfect photo, thanks to a Time Lapse mode that can be set from 0.5 to 60 seconds, and a Burst mode that shoots ten photos per second.

Getting the next epic shot is one press of a button away with a one-button control that turns the camera on and starts recording within five seconds. Another touch stops recording and powers off the camera, or hold down the button for three seconds (when off) and it will start taking time lapse photos. To access the rest of the settings and modes, you can either download the GoPro App to your smartphone for free or purchase separately GoPro's wireless Smart Remote. Once you do this, you can change the field of view, resolution, time lapse, and frame rate with ease, as well as enable Burst or single photos, SuperView, and Protune.

SuperView is a GoPro-exclusive video mode that shoots in 4:3 instead of 16:9, allowing you to fit more vertically within the frame, and then stretches out the sides of the video to fit it back into a 16:9 frame. The result is the world's most immersive wide-angle field of view, capturing more of yourself and your surroundings than ever before. Protune is a professional quality feature that delivers minimally-compressed video that can be optimized in post-production. Protune also enables manual control of ISO and Sharpness so you can truly customize your shots. HiLight Tag lets you mark key moments while recording so you can quickly locate your best shots later for convenient playback, editing, or sharing.

Finally, one of the most innovative new features of the HERO4 Session is the Dual Mic system. It features one mic on the front of the camera and one on the back. When moving fast or recording in windy conditions, the camera automatically switches to the mic that's on the less windy side, resulting in greatly reduced wind noise. This is especially important when you consider that the HERO4 Session requires no housing unit and so the mics are always exposed, which is why GoPro went to such great lengths to minimize noise interference.

Smaller, lighter, and more versatile than any GoPro before it (and that's saying a lot), the HERO4 Session will change the way you capture your adventures and the world around you. The ways to use this camera are only limited by your imagination.
