Racer Designed, Racer Tested: The Atlas Neck Brace was born and fueled from the racers perspective. Designed by a racer and refined over a 3 year period by a team of engineers and bio-mechanical experts, then tested by some of the top professional riders in the world. The end result delivers innovative features, comfort, simplicity and adjustability. Simply put, the Atlas Brace has it all.
- Easy on / off: Simply lower the Atlas Brace on / off over your head like a helmet. No flimsy clips or fasteners to hassle with, and no disassembly of the brace is required during regular use.
- Simplistic flexible design: The Atlas Brace is the first non-rigid brace on the market. By creating a simplified design, and allowing the frame to flex upward and downward in the rear, the Atlas brace maximizes comfort, minimizes bulk, and reduces the "trapped" feeling that other products can create.
- 3-Axis adjustability: The Atlas Brace is the only brace to offer 3-axis adjustability. Rear mount offsets for length (chest size), and optional shoulder padding for height (neck length) are both adjustable right out of the box. A wide body kit to adjust the width of the brace is sold separately and is designed for users that want a wider stance for the brace on their shoulders, or for those who want an easier fit when putting the brace on over head.
- Open frame design: High-strength Polycarbonate construction is impact resistant, shatter resistant, produces a vibrant finish, and easily accepts custom graphics. The split frame allows the rear of the Atlas Brace to flex upward and downward so the brace moves when you do. Custom polycarbonate construction provides the strength needed to protect, while the split frame limits overall rigidity, adding comfort and mobility.
- ERS (Emergency Release System): The ERS provides safe, one of a kind removal of the brace after a severe crash, Performed in 3 simple steps. Remove pin through the front axle nut; Remove front axle nut by spinning counter-clockwise; Pull the brace apart horizontally in 2 parts, and remove.
- Dual pivoting back supports: By incorporating dual back supports into the design, the Atlas Brace provides greater surface area spread across the back, while transferring loads around the spine rather than directly into it. Increasing surface area helps disperse loads over a larger part of the body, aiming to reduce pressure points in critical areas of the body.
- Open sternum: An open sternum area helps transfer the impact around the sternum on a greater surface area of the body, possibly reducing the risk of a fracture.
- Chest suspension: The Atlas Brace has unique, flexible, leaf spring design chest supports that allow the chest supports to aid in absorbing and slowing down hyper-flexion impacts. This promotes further rotation of the helmet, helping to keep the body in motion rather than the head coming to an abrupt stop on impact. This innovative suspension system can also help to reduce some forces transferred through the helmet, head, and chest by distributing them through the brace.
- Pivoting chest and back supports: Dual pivoting chest and back supports self adjust to the body and fold for easy storage. Each brace comes with a drawstring brace bag for storage or transportation, that can easily be personalized with a riders name.
- Custom energy absorbing padding: Unique material properties help to disperse energy from an impact before it reaches the body, further reducing smaller injuries such as bruising or muscle fatigue when compared to conventional EVA foams. All padding is water resistant to ensure no added weight, or wet padding during use.
- 6061-T6 Aluminum hardware: The hardware included on the Atlas Brace is fully custom designed, CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, and anodized to meet the requirements and specifications for this product. All hardware is mounted parallel with specific areas of the body to ensure no bolts are mounted in a way that could puncture the body in a catastrophic crash scenario. Every aspect of the Atlas Brace was carefully engineered, that is why simple, cheap hardware from a catalog was not considered as an option.
- 6061-T6 Aluminum back supports: Each brace comes with 2 sizes of rear mounts, and set in the smallest configuration of the respective size. Switching the mounts on the brace, to the extra size included in the box will adjust the brace to create a larger fit on the body. If your particular size requires fine-tuning, additional sizes are sold separately for further adjustment.
- Mounting options: The Atlas Neck Brace can be configured in various ways. Some options include: Stand-alone brace with no straps; Full 3-piece chest strap (included); Under-the-arms cross straps (included); Stand-alone brace with chest protector; Chest protector mounted to brace (see user manual for instructions on mounting).
- Available in 3 sizes: The Atlas Brace is available in 3 adjustable sizes: small, medium, and large. The sizes fit the following chest circumferences: Small Brace for 33" to 36" (84 cm - 92 cm) / Medium Brace for 37" to 41" (94 cm - 104 cm) / Large Brace: 42"+ (106 cm+). Note: Chest circumference is measured high on the chest, right below the arms.
- The complete package: Each Atlas Brace is packaged complete with 1 additional set of rear mounts, 2 strap systems, 1 draw string brace bag, and user manuals in multiple languages.
