The section where James Stewart went down was pretty nasty. Lots of ruts, very soft and wet, and kickers to boot. Was the photographer crossing the track the cause of the crash? Maybe, maybe not. We talked to one prominent team manager who said that he'd taken the same line the lap before, with nearly the same result. But no matter what, it was an unnecessary distraction in a spot where it was definitely unneeded.
