While Mike Alessi has had his struggles this summer, he was charging throughout the first moto. While talking with Ben Townley recently, he mentioned that the start straights at the GPs and the U.S. Nationals are very different, with the U.S. tracks being very deeply plowed, and the GPs being groomed smooth, but not plowed. That's probably a big part of the different for Mike on the 350.
