As they took off from the start in the first moto, Ryan Dungey (Red Bull/KTM) was sporting the red series leader plate, and James Stewart (Team Yoshimura Suzuki Racing) was back in action after last week's crash that caused him to end up with a DNF-DNS in Colorado. Obviously this start didn't go that well, and he was mired back in the pack.
