Both of the Factory Yamaha 450s featured these rearward slanted KYB shocks. There isn't a clearance issue of any sort with the stocker, it just seems to be done to keep the shock reservoir area away from the headpipe. This is done on both the Factory Yamaha's and their World GP counterparts with Rinaldi Racing.
