During the latter stages of the main, RC start working his way up to James, and both riders had to deal with lappers. As they came upon Jason Thomas entering a 180 bowl turn, James opted for the inside line, while RC went around the outside of the Butler Brother/BTOSports.com rider. Ricky then squared up underneath James, and took over the lead.
