It was a rough weekend for the TLD boys in the muggy sunshine of
Maryland this weekend. Bad starts hampered the whole crew, which is
unusual since they are typically up front in turn one. Still, all of the
riders battled through poor starts and adversity to take some points
home with them.

Christian Craig
has been a machine when it comes to the starts this year but it just
wasn't happening for him at Budds Creek. Still, Craig rode with smarts
and consistency and put together 13-12 moto scores for 12th overall on
the day.

"This start is pretty unfair and if you didn't get a really good
qualifying time it was hard to get out of the first turn in good
position," said Craig of the biased first turn. "I had a decent
qualifying time but it didn't put me close enough to the inside to get
the start I needed. Once I got going I felt like I rode okay, it's just
hard to make up time on the guys in the top ten because everyone is so
fast. Hopefully I can get better starts next weekend."

The 250 riders had an even rougher time of it. Travis Baker
started the day off with an 11th in moto one, putting himself in good
position for a top ten overall. In the second moto, however, Travis
suffered a fluke mechanical failure and would not finish the moto. It
was a tough way to end the weekend for the hard working Baker.

Cole Seely
struggled with his starts all weekend. He was unable to move up the way
he needed to and his results reflected that. In the second moto he
stalled his bike while making his way forward and the lost time would
cost him many positions. By the time he got going again, Cole was tired
and could only muster a 25th, netting him 19th overall on the day. It
was a difficult day for the two-time supercross winner.

The team will take this week and use it to regroup before heading to the
mountains of Colorado for the next round. With better starts and a
commitment to improve their results the team will definitely see better
scores at Thunder Valley. Be sure to come by and visit the team if you
plan on attending the Colorado national.
