Press Release

Troy Lee Designs / Lucas Oil / Honda Steady at Spring Creek

The Troy Lee Designs / Lucas Oil / Honda team spent the weekend in Millville, Minnesota for round seven of the Lucas Oil National Motocross Series presented by Red Bull. The team was happy to have one of their injured riders back under the awning as Christian Craig was coming off a solid ride at Red Bud. All four members of the squad were faced with hot, humid conditions and one of the more physically demanding courses on the circuit.

In the 250 class Jessy Nelson had a top ten start and spent the first few laps jockeying for position with the front-runners. A small tip-over would cost him several spots, however, and after working his way back up he would finish the moto in eleventh. Travis Baker got pinched off down the start straight and came around the first lap near mid-pack. It took Travis a few laps to find his lines and get settled in but once he did he began picking riders off and moving forward. He ended moto one in thirteenth.

The second moto Jessy got a bad start while Travis was closer to the front. They each did their thing and met in the middle when the checkers flew with Baker finishing eleventh and Nelson finishing twelfth. Overall on the day Jessy and Travis finished 11th and 12th, respectively.

Christian Craig once again showed his speed and talent on the bike by posting great lap times and consistent results at Millville. While he couldn’t nail the starts he did at Red Bud again, Christian gated decent both motos and put in steady rides to score fourteenth place finishes in both motos. He would be rewarded with a 10th overall on the day for his consistency. Craig is hoping that he can build some endurance as the season moves along and keep his CRF450 near the front for the entire moto.

The team heads to the great northwest and the Washougal Motocross Park next weekend. If you are in the area please stop by the team hauler and say hello.
