Trampas Parker to be honored at New Orleans SX

Trampas Parker

Legends & Heroes Tour to Honor to Honor

2-Time FIM World Motocross Champion, Trampas Parker,

at the Monster Energy SX in New Orleans this Saturday!

April 11, 2012 - Manlius, NY:
As versatile as he was consistent, Trampas Parker made history as the
first American to win two World Motocross Championships. He was an
unknown American rider living in Italy when he burst onto the World
Motocross Scene by winning the 125cc Championship in 1989 with KTM. Two
years later, he repeated the feat for a 250cc Championship, this time
with Honda.

Parker was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on July 27, 1967. He was
raised in Bridge City, Texas and began riding when he was given his
first motorcycle at age seven. Young Trampas was a winner from the
start. He won the first race he entered and, at the age of eleven, went
on to win his first regional motocross title in the 50cc class.
Trampas' little brother raced as well, but it was Trampas who showed the
most desire to compete. Parker eventually became a member of Kawasaki's
amateur racing program, Team Green, and won AMA national amateur titles
at the Loretta Lynn Ranch in Tennessee in 1984.

"Trampas is one of those guys that just had it figured out. He knew in a
timed moto of 40 minutes plus 2 laps that he could win by sure
endurance and tracking where his competition peaked to take advantage of
his moto strength. The likes of World Champions Brad Lackey and Danny
La Port showed Parker how he could not only win his first world
championship in 1989, but come back in 1991 to win his second World
Champions, becoming the only American to do so", states Alex Moroz and
Mike Owens managing partners of the Legends & Heroes Tour".

Professor Gary Bailey comments “Man there are so many that deserve to
get an award like this for so many reasons. But when I was asked to give
a quote about Trampas, it didn't take me any time to think about this
one. First of all, Trampas Parker is a champion not once, but twice.
Now three times... Those World Championships are something for sure,
but it's about more. Trampas is a Champion off the track as well.  He is
a real class act.  I have known a lot of champions for what they have
done on the track, but I am more impressed with the Trampas I know off
the track.  I like those that have accomplished big things and stay
real. Trampas, you are the man! Congratulations, wish I was there for
this one”.

Trampas will be at the Legends & Heroes Display

from 3-4pm for a meet and greet with the fans.

At 6pm, he will receive the Legends& Heroes award

on the Monster Stage.
