Traditional Sports Magazine Puts Motorcyle Racing on Cover‏

An article shares the story of supermoto and the upcoming Michigan Supermoto Championship

DETROIT (May 3, 2011)
– Launched two years ago, MISportsEdge magazine covers traditional
sports such as running, bicycling, baseball and water sports. The
spring issue has a significant motorcycle presence for the first time.
Former Michigan Supermoto Champion Chase Guthrie graces the
cover, and inside the publication there is an article (page 14) about
supermoto, both its history and presence in Michigan.

“The
cover and article in MISportsEdge magazine and our July downtown street
race, shows that supermoto is alive in the Midwest,” said Dave Duprey,
owner of MISuperMoto.com. “We are building growth for supermoto from
the grassroots level, region-by-region. With the support of
MISporstEdge, we are letting the motorcycle community and the
traditional sports enthusiasts know that we have an affordable,
exciting entertainment product. Supermoto remains one of the most
unique racing events to watch with the combination of asphalt and dirt,
as well as one of the lowest cost motorcycle disciplines to enter.”

MISportsEdge
magazine is available free at select newsstands in Michigan. Guthrie of
Menton, Indiana has competed in MISuperMoto.com races for the past
several years, earning the inaugural 2009 Michigan Supermoto
Championship and finishing third in the 2010 championship.

This
year, the Michigan Supermoto Championship kicks off on Sunday, May 22
at Auto City Speedway in Clio, Michigan. The series will include the
first-ever supermoto through-the-streets race in Michigan with the Taco
Bell Ogemaw Hills Supermoto Spectacular on Friday, July 15. Additional
details will be announced this month for this free spectator event.
