Press Release

Toyota AMA Arenacross This Weekend At Wilkes-Barre’s (Pa.) Wachovia Arena

Two rounds remain to decide Toyota AMA AX Eastern Lites champ

AURORA, Ill., (Feb. 22, 2007) – The highflying action of arenacross resumes this weekend on the Toyota AMA Arenacross Series tour when the Eastern Lites region points chase picks back up at Wilkes-Barre’s (Pa.) Wachovia Arena at Casey Park, Feb. 23-25.

Leading the points chase for the No. 1 Eastern Lites plate heading into Wilkes-Barre is veteran racer Jim Neese of the Carolina Xpress team. But hot on his heels are three up-and-coming racers from the region who have all made Eastern Lites class podiums this year. Pittsburgh’s Kevin Hoge, Ohio’s Patrick Massie and Pennsylvania’s Steve Roman are expected to give Neese all he can handle on Friday and Saturday at Wachovia Arena.

“Neese has a pretty solid lead in the points, which means the local pros are going to do everything in their power to pull off the win and gain those all-important points first-place points,” said Robert Hansen, director of arenacross for Live Nation. “Pennsylvania produces some great motocross racers so the fans at Wachovia Arena this weekend will have a lot of local guys to cheer for on Friday and Saturday.”
