Top Competitors Set to Return for XTRM / AMA Supermoto Championship season opener at Evergreen Speedway on July 4-5

Opening Round Includes X Games Qualifier

Monroe, Wash. (June 30, 2008) – WHR Motorsports is ready to host the opening round of the 2008 XTRM / AMA Supermoto Championship season this Friday and Saturday, July 4-5, at the Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington.

The Inaugural Bob Lanphere's Renton Motorcycle Company / Downtown Harley Davidson Battle of Seattle, marks the first time the AMA Supermoto Championship has visited the state of Washington. Other forms of motorcycle racing such as Supercross, Motocross and Flat Track events have all excelled in the Northwest creating a surge in local competitions and breeding ground for upcoming riders.

The first round of the six round Supermoto Series will set the stage for the ESPN Summer X Games, as non-seeded Supermoto riders will have the opportunity to qualify for their chance at winning an X Games medal, August 1-2.

XTRM / AMA Supermoto is one of the fastest growing forms of professional motorcycle racing in the world. Supermoto racers combine skills that are used in both asphalt and dirt racing. Supermoto tracks are unique, as they feature both right and left hand turns on the asphalt and dirt surfaces; also the tracks combine dirt and metal jumps which take skills from all styles of racing. These supermoto racing elements make this sport one of the most exciting types of motorcycle racing for both spectators and racers.

2008 defending champions Mark Burkhart (450 Premier Class), Ben Carlson (Unlimited Class) and Brandon Currie (250 Lites Class) will have their hands full, as riders like David Pingree, Cassidy Anderson, Carey Hart, Chris Fillmore and Kurt Nicoll look to play the spoiler once the 2008 season gets underway.
