Thor
MX racers came up big this weekend with race wins at the AMA Supercross
Series, the AMA National Enduro Series, and the Best in the Desert
race.
The
AMA Supercross Series took over the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis,
Mo., with Thor’s Ryan Villopoto making a big statement with his fifth
win of the season. After winning his heat race, Villopoto got out front
early and extended his series lead to 13 points with the win. Teammate
Jake Weimer grabbed a seventh-place finish, while Brett Metcalfe
finished just behind him in eighth. Broc Tickle pushed his way through
the pack for 11th.

In
the Supercross Lites class, Darryn Durham narrowly missed the main
event podium with a fourth-place result, while teammate Blake Baggett
finished inside the top-10 in ninth. Cole Thompson finished the night in
13th, while AMA Arenacross rider Jeff Gibson made his first appearance
at an AMA Supercross event and finished a respectable 15th.

Also
on Saturday, off-road riders convened on Laughlin, Nev. for the Best in
the Desert, usually raced in teams. Thor’s Destry Abbott put together a
last minute effort, and pulled off an impressive win with his teammate
on the dusty, 100-mile course.

Back
east, the AMA National Enduro Series held its third round of the season
in Salley, S.C. and it was Thor’s Cory Buttrick that came away with his
first win of the season. Buttrick won two of the six tests, and with
the win now sits 12 point back of the leader in the series standings.
Thor’s Russell Bobbitt, who is still getting back to speed from an
off-season wrist injury, finished in fourth, while Kailub Russell
finished fifth in his first enduro of the season. Charlie Mullins only
competed in four of the six test, finishing the day in 22nd.
