Press Release

Thor’s Robert Remains In Control of WORCS Series

Thor’s
Taylor Robert looked comfortable at his hometown race despite extreme
heat, capturing his third win of the season at Round 5 of the WORCS
series in Surprise, Ariz. The Arizona native posted the fastest lap in
both races and won both Saturday and Sunday’s race by more than one
minute. Robert now has solid control of the points, leading fellow Thor
rider Mike Brown by 25 points. Brown put together a solid effort on
Saturday, finishing second, but after running in second again on Sunday,
didn’t finish the race and ended the weekend fifth overall. Arizona’s
Destry Abbott took part in the race that is less than a 30 minute drive
from his home, finishing with a strong eighth overall with a 7-6 moto
result.

At the fourth round of the AMA
National Hare and Hound Series, Thor’s Kurt Caselli continued his
win-streak in Lucerne Valley, Calif. The reigning champion proved once
again why he has the No. 1 plate with a dominating win.

For the first time in several
years, the sun was shining over Centurylink Field in Seattle, Wash. as
the Monster Energy Supercross came to town. Thor’s Jake Weimer was able
to put together 20 solid laps in the Supercross class to earn his fourth
podium finish of the season in third. Broc Tickle made his move through
the pack after starting outside the top-10 to finish eighth. Both Ryan
Villopoto and Brett Metcalfe did not finish the race and were credited
with 19th and 20th, respectively.

In the Supercross Lites class, the
Western Region returned after an eight-week break from action. Thor’s
Dean Wilson was fast all day, and after winning his heat race, started
the main event in second. Wilson and fellow title competitor Eli Tomac
battled for the second spot, and while trying to maintain his position,
Wilson went down halfway through the 15-lap race. He remounted in
seventh and eventually finished a hard-fought sixth, despite not riding
at 100 percent.

On Sunday, the AMA National Enduro
series held its fourth round in Westpoint, Tenn. Russell Bobbitt was
able to battle his way into second for his first podium finish of the
season. Cory Buttrick also was quick, finishing just off the podium in
fourth, while Charlie Mullins had an issue on the second to last test,
eventually finishing ninth.
