Thor Riders Keep Up Momentum with Podium Finishes Across The Country



The AMA Supercross Series kicked
off the weekend of racing at the sold-out Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga.
Thor’s Ryan Villopoto kept up his quick pace on the technical track,
finishing second in the main event, maintaining his lead in the points
by 10 points.  Teammate Jake Weimer ended the night in 7th, while Brett
Metcalfe was inside the top 10 in ninth. Broc Tickle finished 16th.

In the Supercross Lites class,
Thor’s Blake Baggett bounced back from a tough opening round in Dallas
to finish on the podium in second at the Georgia Dome. Teammate Darryn
Durham pushed his way through the pack to finish fifth, holding onto
second in the points after two rounds.

Also taking place on Saturday was
the series finale of the AMA Arenacross Series from the Target Center in
Minneapolis, Minn. After a hard-fought battle through out the season,
Thor’s Jeff Gibson finished fifth on the night and ended the season as
the runner-up in the championship. 




Out west, the World Off Road
Championship Series held its third round in Mesquite, Nev. Thor’s Taylor
Robert finished out the weekend second overall with a 3-2 moto finish,
while Mike Brown ended up fifth with a 4-5 moto finish. After three
rounds, the two Thor riders are tied for the points lead in the
championship standings. Pro 2 rider Ivan Ramirez grabbed his second win
of the season in Mesquite and is the current Pro 2 points leader.

While many series are in full
swing, the OMA Nationals held its series opener over the weekend in
Tuscumbia, Ala. Thor’s Russell Bobbitt started out the race out front,
eventually finishing the day on the podium in second.
