Thor/Parts Unlimited: Thor Thursday Update

It seems this time of year there is some
added pressure placed on amateur racers to give sponsors additional
glimpses at their talents as the 2010 season wraps up, and the industry
and riders begin to look ahead to 2011.  The Thor amateur team has
given everyone plenty of looks at the future of the sport, and there is
no doubt many of these young riders will soon be leading in the
professional ranks.

Last week at the Ponca City Grand National
in Ponca City, Okla., Thor riders took home 13 Championships.  Six
different riders dominated as they put the final touches on their
preparation for the biggest race of the year, the Loretta Lynn Amateur
National Motocross Championships.  Below is the breakdown on the six
riders that had Thor standing atop the podium throughout the weekend.
Among these riders, Lance Kobusch, Cooper Webb and Justin Bogle all
captured multiple titles during the 2010 Ponca City Grand National.

This week the top amateur riders have all
arrived in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. for the Loretta Lynn Amateur National
Motocross Championships.  If the strong competition wasn’t already
enough for riders to deal with, the temperature has been turned up
throughout the week giving riders another factor to account for.
However, early signs are showing that these athletes qualified for this
event for a reason, and each is proving that nothing will stand in
their way of a championship this week.

Riders like Cooper Webb, Jordan Bailey,
Alexah Pearson, and Jordon Smith have shown their speed already this
week during qualifying, and look to be solid contenders for podium
finishes later this weekend.

Away from the Amateur Nationals there was
another exciting event taking place last weekend in Los Angeles,
Calif.  The 2010 ESPN X Games featured multiple Thor riders in a
variety of disciplines.  Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg, Robbie Maddison,
Josh Hansen, Sara Price, and Sherri Cruse were all on hand and some
took home coveted X Games hard-wear.

Hansen and Price both earned the Bronze
medal in the Men’s and Women’s Super X event, respectively, which was
held at the legendary L.A. Coliseum.  Stenberg collected a couple of
Bronze medals of his own in both the Best Whip and Speed & Style
events.

Finally, Maddison narrowly missed out on a
gold medal in the Best Trick competition, but did capture a very
impressive Silver medal finish in one of the X Games most popular
events.

with Thor.  We’ll have even more from the Loretta Lynn Amateur National
Motocross Championships next week, so be sure to stay connected to thormx.com and the Official Thor Facebook page.
