Third time is a charm as WWR Intern makes Lites Main at A2!

Newbury Park, CA (January 22, 2007) - After chasing an elusive goal during the first two rounds of the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series, WWR intern, Chris Blose, dug deep and fought hard during round three last Saturday night at Anaheim’s Angel Stadium. The young Arizonan would not be denied a spot on the starting gate of the Lites main event, beating a talented LCQ field that included seven other WWR-sponsored riders.

Chris, decked out in special WWR O’Neal gear, was the cream of a 11-rider crop, hosted by the MDK/Lucas Oil/Yamaha team of Jacob Saylor and dubbed the 2007 Hog Haven Tour; all of whom qualified for the night program. Blose, Saylor and fellow Dana K/Wonder Warthog Racing intern, Brady Sheren were part of a huge WWR effort that included DeCal Works Hog Haven riders Antonio Balbi, Ted Campbell, Charles Castloo, Adam Chatfield, Ryan Grantom, Ramon Guzman, Clay Higgins and Vernon McKiddie.

A tip of the Warthog’s snout goes out to Castloo, winner of the Asterisk Medical Card for the second time this season. That’s two Main events he missed getting into by one position…look for this hard-charging young man in the Lites Main event next weekend in San Francisco.  Another rider deserving special mention is Supercross class rider, Antonio Balbi, who had a transfer in the bag during his heat race…only to see it slip away during a frightening last lap crash.

Dana “K” Kellstrom, founder of the Dana K Internships, said, "We knew Chris was going to break through, the way he’s been working his butt off every week.  He’s getting great starts with the MDK Speed motors and I’m sure he’ll improve even more as the season progresses.”

There will be an especially sweetened pot waiting for the riders at the 2007 Hog Haven Tour’s next stop, Saturday, January 27th at AT&T Park in San Francisco.  Ricky’s Sports Theatre & Grill, in nearby San Leandro, voted Sports Illustrated’s “# 2 Sports Bar in America”, will be hosting the entire WWR contingent on Sunday for some grub and a special viewing of the previous night’s race.  At that time, Ricky will present to WWR the proceeds from his Anaheim 1 viewing party/fundraiser, which will be divided evenly between all Hog Haven riders who qualified for their Main event the night before! www.rickys.com

Hog Haven apparel can be purchased at the LiveNation merchandise trailer in the pits or at www.smoothindustries.com. All WWR proceeds go towards funding their privateer support programs.  Drop in to visit the entire team at www.mymotospace.com/wwr
