The Motorcycle Industry Says Goodbye to A Champion‏

JANESVILLE, Wis. (February 1,
2011) – This past Friday, while preparing for the start of the 2011
WORCS Racing season at Honolulu Hills Raceway just outside of Taft,
Calif., Nathan Woods passed away from injuries sustained following a
crash during practice. All of us at LeMans Corp., Parts Unlimited and
Moose Racing offer our condolences to Nathan’s family.

Woods, a long-time Moose Racing rider
and the winningest rider in WORCS history, had joined the KTM off-road
team for 2011 and was poised to add a third championship to his
impressive resume.

“Much like the racing community, Parts
Unlimited and Moose Racing pride themselves on an atmosphere of
family,” said Brad Kruckenberg, Moose Racing General Manager. “When we
lose one of our own, as we did with Nathan this past weekend, it
impacts us all.  Nathan has been a part of our racing family for many
years and we feel blessed to have been able to share in his successes.
Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to his family and everyone
closest to him.  He will be missed.”

A memorial parade lap was
held on Saturday and Nathan’s wife and oldest son wore #54 jerseys in
his honor. The entire WORCS community of riders and racers came to the
start line to pay tribute and Nathan was awarded with the victory for
the weekend, giving him the points lead in the 2011 WORCS Championship
one last time in his career.

The entire off-road motorcycle
community has been hit hard with the loss of one of its most successful
members, but in the spirit of Wood’s competitive nature, the racing
will continue. The remainder of the 2011 WORCS Racing season has been
dedicated to Nathan’s honor.
