The Biggest Names in Arenacross Are Ready For The Lazy E Arena

BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series

Fort Worth, TX (January 16, 2007) – Mike Kidd Entertainment Group will bring the BooKoo Arenacross Series to the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma on January 26-28. The biggest names in Arenacross are set to tackle the largest and most demanding track on the 10-city tour. Additionally, this is the only series in the world where riders must compete in both the 250cc and 450cc classes for a Championship title.

Topping the list of riders is 2-time Arenacross National Champion and current BooKoo Arenacross point leader, Darcy Lange. Lange riding for the Babbitt’s Monster Kawasaki team with 14 main event wins, comes into Guthrie with the most momentum. “The race is always a blast,” said Lange. “With big jumps and wide open turns, the pace of the race is much faster than we are use too. I expect this race to be one of my toughest.”

Another multi-time Arenacross Champion and the rider that will carry the number one plate is Josh Demuth. Demuth can easily be called the iron man of arenacross. During his quest for the title last year, Demuth crashed in Minneapolis in practice slicing his cheek open. After a trip to the hospital, Demuth later returned that evening with over 100 stitches to ride and finish a respectable 4th place in the 250cc class and 10th in the 450cc class. Demuth said, “Sign me up, I will be there.”

The youngest pro rider on the series and sitting second in the BooKoo Championship Series will be 15 year old, Tyler Bowers riding the MDK Speed Equipment American Honda. “I can’t wait,” said Bowers. “I like the tight tracks we race on every week, but I want to race these guys on a supercross style track to see what my skill level really is.”

In the world of arenacross, everyone wants to ride and win at the Lazy E Arena. Why? Because the Lazy E Arena is equivalent to a Supercross track. Arenacross tracks are typically held in arenas where the floor size isn’t much larger than a hockey rink. However the Lazy E Arena offers a floor size larger than a football field, taking arenacross to the next level.

It will be up to each team manager to make the major adjustments on the motorcycles needed to compete on the larger, faster track. The advantage will go to the team with the most supercross experience.

The BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series is known for the strongest arenacross talent on the planet featuring high-flying, adrenaline-fueled arenacross factory support teams and top professional motorcycle racers from across the country. For 3-days the rodeo arena floor of the Lazy E Arena will become a battle ground of double and triple jumps, huge berms and bone-jarring whoop-de-doos.

Mike Kidd, president of MKEG who has 23 years experience promoting successful arenacross events throughout the country is looking forward to bringing this national caliber series to Guthrie. “Our first arenacross to promote at the Lazy E Arena was back in 1988,” said Kidd. “Because of the large crowd and great racing, this has always been one of my favorite events of the year.”
