DAYTONA, Fla. (March 12, 2012) – During
the morning proceeding the oldest AMA Supercross venue, the course on
the infield of the famed DAYTONA® International Speedway was in optimal
condition. The track designed by the Greatest of All Time Ricky
Carmichael was ready for battle until the rains started to come down
after practice. This did not deter the athletes, including TeamViolation1.com/Shea Racing/PassportWorld/National Switchgear powered by SMS Racing’s Shane Sewell who earned his second top fifteen this season with a 12th in the East Region Lites main event on Saturday, March 10.

The
DAYTONA Supercross by Honda kicks off the long-running Daytona Bike
Week. The live broadcasted AMA Supercross race on SPEED TV became a mud
fest with deep suction mud and large standing water throughout the
entire course. However, the track crew kept the course in the best
condition possible.

Sewell
on his #68 KTM 250SX-F, with a Guts Factory Seat to hold grip and
filtration by DT-1 Filters, was not about to have a repeat of the last
race in St. Louis, Missouri when he missed the Lites 250cc main event by
one position. Sewell ran a determined race in heat number two. He put
his head down and went from 19th place to ninth at the finish. Sewell
transferred directly to the main event after that impressive performance
in the mud.

Sewell’s Violation1.com/Shea Racing/PassportWorld/National Switchgear teammates Jeremy Hudleston and Sean Lipanovichwere
ready for action at Daytona after recovering from injuries. However
their day ran shorter than anticipated and than either ever wanted.
Lipanovich pulled off the course in pain during practice as the rough
track was too much for his recovering injury. Meanwhile, Hudleston came
up short during timed practice to get into the AMA Supercross program.

Under
the Daytona lights, Sewell was ready for the AMA Supercross Lites main
event on his Brian Storrie prepared KTM 250SX-F in his FLY Racing gear.
He rode smart, calculated, patient and determined to move up positions
and avoid crashing on the mud-infested course. With his Violation1.com/Shea Racing/PassportWorld/National
Switchgear SMS Racing KTM well prepared for the demands of the course,
Sewell crossed the line in 12th place.

Daytona
was Sewell’s second top fifteen finish this season. He finished a
career-best tenth at the Atlanta round. Sewell is in 16th place in the
AMA Supercross East Region Lites points standings. Team Violation1.com/Shea Racing/PassportWorld/National Switchgear is hopeful that all three team athletes, Hudleston, Lipanovich and Sewell, will be competing in the heat races in Houston, the team’s hometown.
