Team Suzuki Off Road Dominates Coast to Coast

4/19/09: United States of America; Team FMF Suzuki Off Road dominated off road racing this weekend with major wins on both ends of the continent. In the GNCC Series, Suzuki’s Josh Strang took his third straight victory in round five. Strang's win came after a dynamic six laps of racing that saw riders battling muddy hills and bike problems. The 20-year-old Australian finished around two minutes ahead of second place, with third going to his Suzuki teammate Charlie Mullins.

There's still a long way to go," Strang said, careful not to get too excited about his three-race win streak. "This was a tough race and I'm happy to be up here in first. This is where I knew I could be. "

On the same day on the west coast, Team FMF Suzuki Off Road’s J.P. Davis was busy dominating the Pro-2 class of the WORCS Series. Davis, who has had a handful of podiums so far this season, took an early lead and gapped the all-star field. Two hours later, Davis took the checkered flag for his first ever WORCS National win.

It feels great to finally get the first win,” said Davis. “Hopefully this will be the first of many more.”

Davis’s coach and trainer is the legendary Rodney Smith, who also is dominating the WORCS Series in the 40+A class and the new Vet Pro (35+) class. Once again Smith proved unbeatable aboard his RM-Z450. He remains unbeaten in both classes and is favored to win both Championships.

“This was another great day of racing for Team Suzuki Off Road,” said Team Manager Mike Webb of the team’s bi-coastal victories. “The boys on both sides of the country have been working very hard and it pays off on days like this.”
