Team Rockstar/WBR/Suzuki's Andrew McFarlane Recovering from Surgery

Chino, CA – November 20, 2006 – Rockstar/WBR/Suzuki Team Owner Brad Williams confirmed today that newly signed Andrew McFarlane has undergone surgery for a broken arm and is recovering at home.

The incident occurred Wednesday at the Lake Elsinore MX Park in California. McFarlane was coming out of a whoops section, skipping the last few, when he got out of shape and crashed on the face of the next triple. McFarlane went over the bars with the bike landing on top of him.

Doctors performed successful surgery and achieved a good repair to the injured arm. The staples were removed today and a rehab program should start by the end of the week.

Andrew "Sharky" McFarlane is hopeful about being ready to ride the East Coast Series, but right now he's just taking everything a day at a time. "I'm so looking forward to riding Supercross this year. I really like the Suzuki and I felt so good on the bike. I was up to speed and up to pace and the training on the new bike was going in the right direction.

"We're going to make sure he completely recovers before he races again," Team Manager Tony Sulek cautioned. "That could mean waiting till the Outdoor Nationals. We're not going to rush his recovery. We are just going to have to wait and see how much progress he makes in the healing process."

McFarlane came in second at the MX2 World Championship event in 2005, and pulled two podium spots during last year's Nationals. An injury kept him sidelined for 2006 Supercross season.

"We're sorry that Andrew won't be on deck with the rest of the team at the season opener in Anaheim," Williams said. "He's got his spirits up though and retains a positive attitude. We look forward to a quick rehabilitation and Andrew coming back strong."

"You've got to take a positive attitude with a situation like this," McFarlane explained. "I've got a new baby girl and I've got the chance spend some extra time with her right now. There is no use being bummed. I had a positive attitude and was really confident before I got hurt. I felt really good and I know I'll get back and have the same confidence I had before the injury."
