Team MXdesignz.com/Shea Racing’s Teddy Parks improves at AMA Supercross in Phoenix

New team continues to make presence known in pits and on the track

PHOENIX (January 18, 2010) – The Monster Energy AMA Supercross tour made its second stop of the young season, this time at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona where Team MXdesginz.com/Shea Racing continues to make its mark. Supercross class rider Teddy Parks progressed from his opening round performance, and although he didn’t make the main he finished eight spots ahead of where he did last week. The team continues to stand out in the pits and attract fans with its graffiti-inspired design on the race transporter.

On a JM Racing-tuned Kawasaki KX450F, Parks qualified for the night program in seventh in his practice group. The course had a unique set-up compared to the typical AMA Supercross race where there was a section of deep sand whoops much like an outdoor motocross. This separated the field even more and made strong riders shine. Team MXdesignz.com/Shea Racing’s Parks blew through that sand section, and kept improving nearly every lap and each race out.

In the second heat race where Parks was gated with the 17th pick, he pushed hard to earn a 15th place finish. This was a stacked heat race with riders Chad Reed, Ryan Villopotto and Kevin Windham—Parks finished well as a rookie privateer. Next came the LCQ where Parks was even more motivated to do well and ride his own race. Starting near the back of the pack, he worked his way up to a seventh place finish.

“This was our first time to Chase Field and it’s a great stadium and awesome track,” said Tim Shea, team manager. “During the week leading up to the race, Teddy and his dad Ted Parks Sr. worked on some new settings and his speed. The results showed with his finish in the LCQ. As a team manager I want to see improvement. Teddy showed us just that and continues to represent our sponsors well on and off the track. I am pumped to see what happens at Anaheim this weekend!”

The series returns to Angel Stadium of Anaheim in California this Saturday, January 23 for round three of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series. Stop by the Team MXdesignz.com/Shea Racing pit to meet Parks and check out some of the MXdesignz graffiti-inspired apparel. The team’s transporter will be next to the Warthog Racing rig.
