Team Airide KTM Adds to the Growing List of AMA Arenacross Series Teams in 2012

AURORA,
Ill. (October 6, 2011) – The 2012 AMA Arenacross Series will welcome a
new team for the upcoming season, prepared to attack the respective
championships in both the Arenacross and Arenacross Lites classes. At
the season-opening race from Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, on
October 29, Team Airide KTM will debut it’s three-rider lineup, led by
veteran rider Daniel Blair, and rounded out by up-and-coming riders Jake
Locks and Brian Alquist.

The
Airide KTM effort is currently in the midst of preparation for the
upcoming AMA Arenacross Series season. With the new displacement rule
change in effect for the 2012 season, all three riders will be piloting
brand new KTM 250SX-F’s in their search for success. In addition to the
countless hours of on-track preparation, Team Airide has also enlisted
the services of a full-time trainer, in hopes of giving its riders that
extra edge in fitness.

Blair
is one of the most experienced riders in the AMA Arenacross Series.
While most of his achievements have come racing in the Monster Energy
Supercross championship, Blair’s familiarity with close, bar-to-bar
competition is a tremendous asset. He made his debut in the AMA
Arenacross Series last year, but following an injury that cut his season
short, Blair is back and ready to challenge at the front of the field.

Locks
experienced strong results in his first full season of AMA Arenacross
Series competition one year ago. He posted six top-five finishes in
Arenacross Lites competition, highlighted by a trio of podium efforts.
With some more experience under his belt, Locks will look to take the
next step in search of an Arenacross Lites title.

Alquist’s
2011 AMA Arenacross Series season was unfortunately over before it
really even began. Following a fifth-place finish in the Arenacross
Lites class after the opening race, Alquist suffered a season-ending
injury the following weekend. Now, fully healed and dialed in on his new
KTM, Alquist will be looking to contend for the Arenacross Lites
Championship.
