Tag Metals Rules Southwick

Valencia, Calif. – Tag Metals Rules Southwick

Shawn Norfolk, Director of Marketing for Tag Metals said, “What an amazing weekend for Tag Metals, our teams, and racers. Geico Powersports Honda’s Rookie sensation Justin Barcia gets his first National win in the 250 class. His teammate Brett Metcalfe came home in 3rd and Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey came home in 4th and now has a 17 point lead on his rival Pourcel in the championship battle. Bringing home 5th at Southwick, in only his second professional race was Triangle Cycles’ Taylor Futrell. Taylor joined the Tag Metals Factory8 amateur team this year and brought home many national championships in the amateur ranks for us. He really stepped it up at Southwick and we expect great things from this young man in the future.”

“In the 450 class, Factory Yamaha’s Matt Goerke put together his first Outdoor national victory. Filling in for an injured Josh Hill proved to be exactly what he needed in order to show the world what he is capable of. 2nd place went to Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Michael Byrne. Valli Yamaha’s Kyle Regal backed up his 4th OA last week at Budds Creek with a strong 6th OA at The Wick. These young athletes are really making a difference in our sport and we’re excited to be a part of it.”

“We want to thank Yamaha, Rockstar/Makita Suzuki, Geico Powersports Honda, Valli Yamaha as well as Chris and Taylor Futrell for making us extremely proud to be a part of your incredible racing efforts. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to the Tag Metals brand. Congratulations guys and thank you!”
