TEAM ROCKSTAR ENERGY SUZUKI Cards AN Eighth-Place Overall At Redbud Motocross

Buchanan, MI (July 2, 2011)
Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki grabbed a top-ten finish during the sixth
round of the 2011 AMA Pro Motocross Championship at the Rockstar
Energy Drink Redbud National in Buchanan, MI on Saturday. Martin
Davalos displayed the awesome power of his Yoshimura-equipped Suzuki
RM-Z250 in front of a huge crowd and claimed an eighth-place overall
finish in the 250 class.

Davalos started the day eighth fastest
in the morning qualifying sessions. In the first moto, Davalos had a
good start but got caught up with a downed rider in the second turn
and ended up remounting near the back. He pushed his RM-Z hard,
charging through the pack ‘til the end, and crossed the line for an
eleventh-place finish. In moto two, he got a mediocre start around
mid pack but was eleventh by the end of the first lap and put his
head down from there. Davalos charged hard on his Suzuki and was able
to work his way up to cross the line for seventh. The 11-7 moto
finishes were good enough to score him an eighth-place overall
result. Davalos sits in tenth place in championship series points.

“Redbud was okay for me,” said
Davalos. “I got a good start on my Suzuki in the first moto –
probably sixth or seventh – but then going into the second turn,
someone crashed right in front of me and I had no place to go and
went down on top of him. That put me really far back – I think I
was 39th or something by the time I was able to get back going. I was
able to charge my way back to eleventh. The second moto, I didn’t
get a very good start – maybe top 15 – but I was able to work
through the pack on my RM-Z250 and charge really hard to get up to
seventh. It was definitely a result that I was looking for. It was
good for my Rockstar Energy Suzuki team and they did a great job. I’m
looking forward to this weekend off. I’m flying home to see my
family and I think that’s gonna help me a lot because I haven’t
seen them in a long time. Then we head to Millville. I’m really
looking forward to Millville; that track is always fun. I’m gonna
try to pick up my results and put the Suzuki up front.”

The Rockstar Energy Suzuki team’s
next event is the seventh round of the 2011 AMA Pro Motocross
Championship on Saturday, July 16th, at the Spring Creek National in
Millville, MN.
