Swanepoel Dominates Round 4 of British Championship

Gareth Swanepoel headed to Round 4 of the 8 round British Motocross Championships this past weekend, held at Hawkstone Park. With his speed and confidence increasing with every race the Factory Kawasaki rider was determined to win this weekend, and that is exactly what he did.

In the opening race ‘Swanie’ was just edged out of the hole-shot by Tom Church, however the determined South African wasted no time as he passed Church on the 2nd corner. From there Swanepoel was untouchable as he pulled away from the pack to take the win.

In the 2nd race, again Swanepoel just missed out on the hole-shot, but this time it was Brad Anderson who got the advantage. As per the opening moto, Swanepoel wasted no time in getting to the front of the pack on the opening lap. Anderson tried to hold onto ‘Swanie’, however the super fit Swanepoel edged away to take the win, putting him on the top step of the podium.

We caught up with a smiling Swanepoel after the race: ”It really came together today. The bike was awesome, we made a change on the suspension settings last week in testing and it has made the bike way better for me, allowing me to corner much faster. I also felt more relaxed on the bike this weekend, even on this rough circuit I didn’t really get tired. I really look forward to the GP in Germany next week.”

Next weekend Gareth Swanepoel and the Factory Kawasaki head to Teutschenthal in Germany to take part in Round 9 of the MX1 World Championship.
