San Manuel's James Stewart Breaks Winless Streak

St. Louis, MO
-Team San Manuel Yamaha Red Bull’s James Stewart
had a great night in St. Louis, breaking his eight-race winless streak
and gaining more championship points.  In Heat 1, Stewart got a decent
start in the top 10 and quickly started working his way through the
field.  By lap six he was in third place and easily maneuvered around
other riders to get the lead.  Stewart then threw down the quickest lap
time of the day, helping him to win his heat race. In the Main Event,
Stewart got a top three start and hit a triple-triple on the first lap,
shaving off seconds from his lap times and taking over the lead.  After
riding flawlessly for the first ten laps, Stewart had a five-second
lead and consistently put down fast lap times until he passed the
checkers and won the race.  “Wow! That was pretty special out there
tonight,” Stewart said.  “I was able to get a halfway decent start and
started making up for some things.  I’ve been really trying and this
weekend really came through for me.  I can’t thank my fans, my team, my
sponsors, and my family enough.  You guys are the reason I’m still
here.”

Stewart’s teammate Kyle Regal
has shown no signs of his wrist injury as he has been able to pick up
his speed and show consistent improvement.   Regal got a good start in
his Heat and was able to finish seventh, moving right on to the Main
Event.  Regal started 11th in the Main and struggled a little along the
way, but was able to finish in 14th place.  “I rode pretty hard out
there and am still trying to work my way up,” Regal said.  “My team has
been behind me 100 percent and training has been going well, I just
need to put it all together.”

Stewart has moved up to fourth
place with 259 points, now only 16 points shy of the lead.  Regal was
able to maintain 15th place with 72 points.
