SPY’S Justin Barcia Cashes In At Monster Energy Cup

CARLSBAD, Calif.—Newly anointed SPY team rider Justin “Bam Bam” Barcia came out of the gates with a win at the second-annual Monster Energy Cup in Vegas over the weekend. In his first premier class event, Barcia finished first overall with 2-1-2 finishes in the three main events, taking home a cash prize of $100,000.

“All the guys in this class are really fast, and I am happy to turn in the performance I did,” said Barcia. “I tried to hold off [going into the Joker Lane] until late in the race, and that gave Eli the chance to move into the lead. I have been working hard and will continue to work hard.”

SPY was on-site at the event supporting the newest addition to their MX team and passing out custom Justin “Bam Bam” Barcia hats.

“Justin was the missing link in our elite MX team, and we’re stoked to kick off our relationship with a victory,” said SPY Motocross Marketing Manager Victor Sheldon. “New team rider, new goggle. It’s going to be a real exciting year for our whole team.”
