Sébastien Pourcel Injured 3

Involved in the last round of the Guadeloupian Motocross Championship, Sébastien damaged his
shoulder and hip after a crash in the first race. He will have to rest at home during a month.
Invited for a week in the Caribbean with several other French riders, including teammate Maxime Emery
and GP rider Jeremy Tarroux, Sébastien enjoyed the nice weather over there and relaxed during a few
days after a long season. He discovered the track of Lamartin home of this final event on Saturday, and
he was leading the opening race on Sunday afternoon when he crashed during the second lap. Suffering
from his left shoulder and hip, he was carried to the hospital of Pointe-à-Pitre where the doctors fixed both
injuries. He had a quiet night and was joking when his parents visited him Monday morning, a few days
before his repatriation. Sébastien will be back in France on Thursday morning, and will be transferred to
the hospital of Aix-en-Provence where Professor Olivier Dufour will do new exams and will continue with
his recovery.

Sébastien Pourcel: "The crash was not impressive but I landed heavily on my left side, and I realized
immediately that I was injured pretty seriously. I couldn’t move my left arm and leg, and it was painful. In
fact both my shoulder and hip were dislocated, and the doctor in Pointe-à-Pitre put both in place. Now I
will have to rest during one month, and then I will be able to start practicing. Initially my plan was to go
training in the US in January, so now I have to change my plans and I just in Europe to prepare myself for
the 2009 season. Unfortunately injuries are part of our sport, and you can get injuries every day when you
race or train. This will not change my goal for next season, and with the full support of Kawasaki I want to
battle for the title. After our successful testing sessions in Japan I stay optimistic, I know that I will be
ready for the first GP in three months."
