Rockstar/Hart & Huntington’s Boni Forced to Withdraw From Swedish GP

This coming weekend in Sweden, round eleven of the FIM World Championship is taking place and it is with great regret that Rockstar/Hart & Huntington Honda’s Matt Boni has to announce he’s forced to withdraw from the event with an injury. Boni, from Geneva Florida, was due to ride for the CAS Honda team as a replacement rider for the injured Billy McKenzie but is now injured himself from racing at Mammoth Mountain Motocross. Boni has tearing and blistering on both hands and thought better of going over and racing at a world championship level.

“I’m disappointed by the late withdraw but my hands are shot and I didn’t want to go over there and ride at half-speed for CAS Honda. Plus, we have the X-Games coming up and that is very, very important to my Rockstar/Hart & Huntington team and I need to be at 100% for that” states Boni “I was training hard for this chance and I would like to apologize to everybody at CAS Honda but there is now way I could’ve raced at my level.”

“Matt is contracted by us for the X-Games and with all the coverage that race gets and the fact that we think Matt has a great shot to do well, I recommended to him that he get healthy and not go over and thankfully, he took my advice” stated team manager Kenny Watson “If anyone has ever ridden with blistered, and now infected, hands then they will understand.”

Look for the Rockstar/Hart & Huntington Honda team at the X-Games where they will be rocking the pits as usual. Come by and get an autograph from team riders Matt Boni, Troy Adams and Carey Hart.
