RedBud to Support Travis Sewell at Indianapolis Supercross

RedBud Track N Trail to Sponsor Local Star

BUCHANAN, Mich. (March 22, 2007) – Continuing their commitment to local area racing, promoters of RedBud Track N Trail have stepped up to support local rider Travis Sewell at this weekend’s Amp’d Mobile Supercross in Indianapolis.

As part of the sponsorship, RedBud will pay for Sewell’s entry fee and accommodations as the Westville, Ind.-native competes in the AMA Supercross Lites class. Sewell hopes to capitalize off of an impressive season that includes his breakthrough ride last week at Orlando’s Citrus Bowl where he not only qualified for his first ever main event, he crossed the checkers in 14th place.

“This is a huge opportunity for me,” said Sewell. “Growing up in AMA/District 14 and 15, I have always wanted to put in a great race for the local fans who have watched me racing as a kid. This support from the Ritchie family and RedBud for the weekend’s event means a lot to me. I will have a lot of friends and family at the event, and I want to turn some fast laps in front of my fans and show my appreciation.”

Located just 10 miles from the Michigan/Indiana border, RedBud has been a charter member of Indiana’s AMA/District 15 since the early 70s, and a big part of the feeder system for the AMA Motocross/Supercross program. Amateur riders from the region have graduated from RedBud to establish themselves on the professional circuit. Indiana icon Mike LaRocco grew up racing in District 14 and 15 events before he garnered 11 AMA Motocross wins and 10 AMA Supercross wins as well as the 1994 AMA Motocross National Championship and 1993 500cc AMA National Championship.

“Helping Sewell is just another way of supporting the sport”, says Amy Ritchie. “Travis has been a part of the AMA/District family for years, and we are happy to provide assistance to a local racer with his enthusiasm. He’s a hard-working kid who epitomizes what we believe in. His work through the amateur ranks has given him a new platform to compete on.”

The 2007 Toyota AMA Motocross Championship, presented by FMF, will make its annual visit to RedBud Track N Trail in Buchanan, Mich., on June 30-July 1 for the 34th running of the Monster Energy/Kawasaki RedBud National presented by Concept Haulers.

RedBud Track N Trail continues to add improvements to their facility, and the event’s continuity shows as title sponsors, Monster Energy and Kawasaki, and presenting sponsor, Concept Haulers, return to support the event for the third and fourth year respectively. Concept Haulers, which is located in nearby Shorewood, Ill., has used the event as a showcase for its business to local and national motocross enthusiasts.
