Race Tech Signs Brian Burns‏

For 2012, Race Tech has revamped an already successful Rider Support Program to support more riders than ever from around the world. Race Tech has developed a very strong relationship helping many of the struggling privateers in the pro ranks, and when the opportunity came to do something similar for one of the nations top amateur talents; Race Tech jumped at the opportunity.

The thousands of people who have been following the "Road to Loretta's" series put together by Red Bull and Vurbmoto already know the story of California's Brian Burns. Working at a local bike shop during the day and pounding motos in the evening, Brian is an amateur struggling financially every day to make it to the races and make a name for himself.

Brian was able to put in strong rides at his regional qualifier and make it to Loretta Lynn's, but riding on ragged equipment; he was definitely at a disadvantage. Definitely not the situation you want to be in heading into the biggest race of the year. After seeing his story, Race Tech knew he was a perfect fit for their rider support program, and with the help of Vurbmoto; they tracked down Brian to offer him a spot on their Rider Support Team.

When Burns was asked about the opportunitiy, he said, "I am very excited to start riding for Race Tech coming into Loretta's and into the 2013 racing season. I have always admired the guys at Race Tech after seein them at almost every amateur national and I have loved their stuff ever since I got it on my 65! Everyone at Race Tech has stepped up to give me the edge at the races that I have never had before."

"I've seen Brian everywhere at the Southern California tracks and he's always going fast and putting in long motos. I'm looking forward to testing and working with Brian," said Race Tech's General Manager Rob Brown.

"Brian first caught my eye when he took home a title at the Amateur National Arenacross Finals in Vegas. He had great corner speed and definitely was giving it his all throughout the races," said Race Tech's Director of Marketing Chris Riesenberg.

Chris continued, "A few weeks later, I saw him pounding out motos and flying by me on the track at Milestone. I didn't know much about Brian then, but after watching his story on "Road to Loretta's" I definitely was impressed he was doing so much with so little support. After talking to the guys at Vurb about Brian and hearing their excitement about working with him, we knew we had to support Brian."

"It was one of the best phone calls I've ever made. Brian was truly speechless and beyond thankful for the offer to join the Race Tech team. Truly amazing is really the only words I can use to describe how thankful and positive Brian is despite a tough situation," Chris said.

Brian Burns will be testing with the Race Tech crew prior to taking to the national stage at Loretta Lynn's in early August and will remain on the team for the rest of 2012 and beyond.
