Ty Tremaine & Eric Yorba: EnduroCross & Big 6 Champions

The FMF/RPM/KTM Racing Team Maxxis finished off the 2016 EnduroCross season at the top step of the podium with team rider Ty Tremaine taking top honors in the Junior division and an impressive 3rd overall in the Pro Class points.

After battling up front for much of the series, the 21 year old from Nevada established himself as a contender at each of the rounds. Ty came into the Ontario season finale in 4th place in the overall standings, just 4 points back from veteran Mike Brown. A commanding win in the heat race earned Ty one crucial extra championship point going into the night show.

The anticipation was high when the gate dropped for the main event. Ty and his RPM / FMF / Maxxis KTM picked off riders one by one, making a valiant charge to the front. A small hiccup in the fire wood section was the only mistake he made all night as he rode calm, cool, and collected. When the checkered flag fell, Ty crossed the line in 5th position. This finish was enough to clinch the Junior Division championship and secure 3rd place in the overall standings by 1 point.

"This is a dream come true", exclaimed Ty after the race. "I've been working really hard this year training and testing with the team, just doing anything I can to better myself. I had a great heat race and thankfully pulled off a win along with that valuable extra point. I tried to ride smart in the main, and knew I had to beat Mike. It's an honor to get the Junior championship and finish up here on the podium for the overall. Thanks to the team and all the sponsors who make this possible."

"We did it", says Team Owner, Mike Hurlbert. "Ty is still very young but he's shown so much improvement over the last year. For him to be running up front with (Cody) Webb and (Colton) Haaker just goes to show that he really is the future of the sport. I'm honored to work with Ty and his family and I'm excited that we were able to pull this off as a team."

Yorba got on a streak the last half of 2016, winning 4 or the last 5 Big 6 rounds and 2 of 3 WORCS rounds including the prestigious Glen Helen WORCS event.

"I am so happy to finish the season on a high note" Says Yorba. "Everything just clicked the last half of the year. My conditioning, my bikes, my mechanic, my team, my family. It just all came together in perfect harmony. I can't wait until next year to get back to racing".

"We have accomplished a lot together," says Team owner Mike Hurlbert. "Eric won the WORCS Pro 2 Championship for us several years ago and now at 22 years old he has blossomed in to one of the elite Pro riders in the West. We are all family and friends and go through the ups and downs together. We cherish the ups like we are experiencing now."
