Racing Recap: Awesome October

Lynden, WA (November 4, 2016) - The FMF/RPM/KTM Racing Team Maxxis had an awesome month of October, as riders across the nation put in some of their best rides to date. Notable finishes include Eric Yorba's win at the WORCS Racing season finale, after leading Mexico Junior ISDE team to a Gold Medal, Dante Oliveira's finish to a perfect season, Ty Tremaine's first EnduroCross Pro Class podium, and Jesse Ansley winning 12/13 GNCC 200 A Races! Check out our latest monthly news below.

"I could not be happier with our team's performances as of late", says Team Owner, Mike Hurlbert. "What a great way to finish off one of the most highly contested series' out west. Eric Yorba capped off the WORCS Series on top in the Pro Class, while Dante Oliveira conquered his undefeated season in Pro 2 Lights and 250A. These two riders have such a bright future ahead of them, and already show great potential. Also, Ty's hard work has been paying off as he landed on the box in EnduroCross. We've been blessed with so much talent, and equally so with the support of our sponsors. Thanks to all who make this possible."

Eric Yorba continued to carry his momentum from the summer break into this month's races. After competing for Team Mexico at the ISDE, Eric sped through the sands of Primm, Nevada to another overall Pro Class win. He battled tooth and nail for the duration of the moto, taking the lead with just 2 laps to go. These strong final rounds gave Yorba 4th overall in the season points.

"It was great to keep the momentum going," said Yorba after the race. "I was looking forward to this track, and just tried to ride a smooth race. Wallis and I had an intense battle. I came around and dove really hard to take the lead. I just tried to keep it smooth on the final lap."

Dante Oliveira has been one of the most dominant off road riders on the West Coast scene this year. He completed his perfect WORCS Racing season in the Pro 2 Lights and 250A classes at the season finale, taking home the titles in both divisions. This youngster piloted his KTM 250 to the top step of the podium 9 times in 9 tries. He looks to move to a 350 next year in the Pro 2 category.

"It's really cool to go undefeated for the entire season," said Oliveira. "Last year, I was barely making the podium, so it feels good to win them all this year."

Ty Tremaine has been knocking at the door for an EnduroCross Pro Class podium for some time now. His hard work and dedication finally paid off this month with a 3rd place finish in Washington. Ty convincingly took the victory in his heat race, giving him a great gate pick in the main event. At the end of the night, Tremaine was on the box in front of a packed venue to the delight RPM Racing owner Mike Hurlbert and the Carson Motorsports KTM who continue to support Ty along the way. He sits 4th in overall points, just 4 points out of 3rd. Look for continued progression from the Nevada native with 2 more rounds to go.

Mike Witkowski capped off the GNCC Racing Series with a huge holeshot and a strong 5th place finish. This hard fought finish was enough to put him into 8th overall in the championship points. Mike was pleased to end his season on a high note and looks forward to beginning preparation for 2017.

Jesse Ansley finished the GNCC Series with a bang once again with his highest overall finish to date. 12 wins in 13 attempts made it clear he was the man to beat in the 200A division. Once again we'd like to congratulate this youngster, and show how proud we are to have him bring home the title to the RPM pits.
