Press Release

Podium for Mickael Leib in Ernée

Once
more
the Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki team had mixed feeling this weekend,
with
the first podium for newcomer Mickael Leib and the injury of Nicolas
Aubin.
The Frenchman suffers a broken metatarsus and will be out for a couple
of
weeks.

Fifth
round of the Rockstar Elite French championship, Ernée met some extra
guests
such as Musquin and Pichon who didn’t compete in the series. Saturday
was a good day for the Bud boys, as Nicolas finished the MX1
qualifying race
in second position while Mickael got a third place in the MX2 race.

Nicolas
got
the holeshot of the opening race, but there was some confusion in the
first
corners and he was third behind Pichon and Musquin when Boog tried to
pass
him at the top of a hill; both collided, and in the incident the left
foot of
Nico was damaged by the bikes. He went for checking to the hospital
and came
back with a plaster to his foot, suffering a broken bone. For the
first time
since he arrived in Europe, Mickael Leib was able to show his real
potential
during the three races; seventh of the first heat and then twice
fifth, the
young Californian enjoyed the podium celebration with a second place
in the
MX2 class behind World championship leader Marvin Musquin. Starting
all the
races mid pack, Mickael was coming back strongly to secure this good
result.

On his 125 KX among 250 and 450 four stroke machineries Dylan had some
tough
racing, but never gave up and got a fifteenth place mixed and 8th MX2
in the
last heat.

Nicolas

Aubin: “I collided with Xavier at the top of an uphill, I was in a rut
when Xavier took the same line and hurt my foot. It was so painful
that I
knew a bone was broken; I’ve a plaster now and expect to be back in
two
or three weeks. Before this incident I had a good weekend, with a
second
position in qualifying between Pichon and Boog and later the fastest
lap time
during the warm up session.”

Mickael

Leib: “It was a long and good day, I had to learn the French track but
it went OK. Since I’m there I’ve not really been able to train so
much with my injury, but today I gave a little taste of what I can
offer to
the team. I’m waiting the next GP’s now, everyone in the Rockstar
Bud Racing Kawasaki has worked hard to improve the bike as we had some
troubles in France. People in this team are awesome, and every weekend
I come
with the goal to do my best for them.”

Jacky
Vimond: “Each weekend we have good and bad news, and this injury of
Nicolas is another bad moment for him; he was fast in the timed
practice
periods, did a good qualifying race and we were confident for the
race. The
good news is the fact that Mickael did three good races; despite mid
pack
starts he got a final second position in the MX2 class and confirmed
that the
250 Bud Kawasaki had a great potential, that’s good for the mental of
our staff.”
