Podium Finish for Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki's Josh Demuth in Morden

Huntington, TX (June 29, 2010) - Although the forecast called for rain, the fourth round of the CMRC Monster Energy Motocross Nationals started under sunny skies at Shadow Valley Raceway in Morden, Manitoba.  Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki rider Josh Demuth raced to his third straight podium with his third place finish. Troy Adams rode through some pain from a previous crash to finish twelfth overall on the day.

Demuth grabbed the holeshot the first MX1 moto followed by Adams and the rest of the Canadian motocross riders.  Demuth continued to lead the moto until just before the midway point when Dusty Klatt made a pass stick.  Eventually, Colton Facciotti got by Klatt and Demuth, relegating Demuth to third at the finish.  Adams battled in the lead group for a while until his injuries from the prior week caught up with him.  Adams battled through the pain to finish a solid eighth place in the opening moto.

"I finally got the good start that I've been looking for," said Demuth.  "It felt good to lead the moto for a while and now I just need to work on keeping my speed up for the entire moto.  The bike is working really well for me and I think we'll be ready to push towards the championship in the second half of the season."

In the second moto, Adams got a good jump and came out of the first turn in second position.  A small mistake caused him to fall but he quickly remounted and caught up to the lead pack within a few laps.  Adams was definitely riding his best moto of the year.  However, his charge to catch up to the front of the pack took a toll on his injured body and he slowed his pace halfway through the moto.  "The whole right side of my body was really sore and we came into round four just trying to score some points.  I was actually riding really well but started to feel it at the midway point in both motos so I decided to slow it down a bit.  The break will be a welcome relief and should help me heal up."

Demuth started outside the top ten in the second moto and had to battle through the pack to get to the lead group. He eventually made it into fourth position where he would find himself in an intense battle with Hungarian rider, Kornel Nemeth.  The two swapped places numerous times as they battled for the moto's final podium spot with Nemeth edging Demuth out at the flag.  However, Demuth's better finish in the first moto would give him third overall on the day.

The Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki Racing Team will travel to Gopher Dunes in Courtland, Ontario on July 18, 2010 for round five of the CMRC Monster Energy Motocross Nationals.
