Pirelli SCORPION™ MX Excels at the Motocross Grand Prix of Limburg in Lommel

 

Jorge Prado Rules MXGP as Tim Gajser Maintains the Red Plate. Tom Vialle Makes it Back-to-Back in MX2 to Increase his Championship Lead

 

LOMMEL, Belgium (October 22, 2020) – The Grand Prix of Limburg, Round 14 of the 2020 FIM Motocross World Championship, was the second race hosted by the challenging Belgian circuit of LommelSCORPION™ tires dominated the results sheets, and thanks to the performance of the SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft front and SCORPION MX™ Soft rear combined with medium/soft mousse, were the winning choice of the Pirelli riders who swept the overall podiums in both classes and also in the EMX250 European Championship. With four races to go in 2020, Pirelli is already mathematically world champion in the MX2 class.

Jorge Prado produced an impressive win in MXGP. The Spaniard managed to conquer the premier class across one of the most demanding tracks of the series in his rookie season. The runner-up position went to Tim Gajser who continues to lead the standings. Antonio Cairoli took third place and remains Gajser's closest rival in the championship. Fifth place was filled by Jeremy Seewer and crowned Pirelli’s excellent day in MXGP.

Tom Vialle repeated his victory obtained last Sunday in MX2. The Frenchman, who remains comfortably in the lead in the championship, preceded Ben Watson and Jago Geerts who, due to some errors, lost ground in the points championship. Thanks to Isak Gifting's fourth place and Maxime Renaux's fifth, Pirelli occupied the top-five positions.

With a fantastic triumph in the final round of the EMX250 European ChampionshipThibault Benistant became the 2020 European Champion. Pirelli placed their riders in the overall top six with the freshly crowned Frenchman heading Hakon FredriksenJorgen Matthias TalvikuMarcel ConijnAlbin Gerhardsson and Bastian Boegh DammFredriksen finished third in the championship ahead of Kay De Wolf. After the penultimate round of the European EMX125Meico Vettik holds third position in the standings.

Next Sunday the Grand Prix of Lommel, Round 15 of the 2020 FIM Motocross World Championship, will close the Belgian triple-header.
