Pirelli Riders Prepare for Monster Energy Supercross Finale in Las Vegas

ROME, Ga. (USA) May 5, 2016 – The final round of the 2016 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, is set to take place at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas this Saturday, May 7.  The glitz and glamour of the Vegas Strip will transfer to the confines inside of the football stadium as the star-studded field of riders prepare for bar-banging action. For the first time this season, the Western Regional 250SX Class and Eastern Regional 250SX Class will compete head-to-head as they battle for the chance to earn bragging rights.

It has been nothing short of a stellar season for the BTO Sports/WPS/KTM veteran Justin Brayton, who continues to hone his sharp skillset en route to impressive performances. Last weekend he tied his season-high finish with a fifth place and will look to finish the season strong in Sin City this weekend.

Fresh on the supercross scene for 2016, rookie Benny Bloss is coming off of his first-career 450SX Main Event, which helped him gain tremendous experience as he continues to fill-in for the injured BTO Sports/WPS/KTM riders Andrew Short and Davi Millsaps.

The Autotrader/Monster Energy/Yamaha squad started the season slow due to unfortunate injuries, however, a late season surge witnessed both Weston Peick and Justin Barcia claim their season-high finishes. Peick currently sits inside the top-10 in the championship and the California native has a history of turning good results on the slippery West Coast soil. Barcia is a former winner of the 250SX Class in Las Vegas and he is determined to find the same success he had back in 2012.

TPJ Racing has consistently put in strong performances throughout the year, including multiple riders making the 450SX Class and 250SX Class Main Events. Nick Schmidt carries an astonishing 15-consecutive Main Event streak, while privateer Alex Ray is in pursuit of his ninth Main Event start of the season.

Motorcycle Superstore Suzuki will have Kyle Cunningham (250SX West) and Jimmy Albertson (250SX East) pitted under the awning this weekend when the 250SX Classes face off. Cunningham is no stranger to navigating the tricky hard-pack desert soil and has turned some of his career-high finishes inside Sam Boyd Stadium. The team will be offering a special opportunity for those in attendance to sign up for a chance to win a set of Pirelli Scorpion™MX32™ tires and other cool prizes.

Matt Bisceglia will be the lone rider for the MAD Racing/Dirt Candy Graphics/Suzuki team as his Australian teammate Luke Clout recovers from a broken femur suffered earlier this season. After landing the all-new SCORPION™MX32™PRO its first podium in Monster Energy Supercross, Bisceglia is an underdog heading into the weekend aboard the No.32 machine.

Supercross action from the Sam Boyd Stadium gets underway on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. PT and can be viewed on FOX Sports 2 between 7-8 p.m. and FOX Sports 1 8-10 p.m. Check local listings for channel information.
